Gibson County Habitat
Building Homes, Building Hope and Stronger Communities
OUR Vision
A Gibson County where everyone has a decent place to live
OUR GOAL
Provide the Hardworking Families in Gibson County with decent affordable housing

Homeownership Opportunity
Gibson County Habitat DOES NOT give houses away
“A hand up, not a handout” is a core principle that sustains Habitat’s work; Habitat homeowners must go through a qualification process and homeownership training that is designed to help them understand the financial and homeownership responsibilities.
Potential Habitat homeowners must :

Meet Income Guidelines
Every potential Habitat Homeowner must meet the minimum and maximum income guidelines and have a minimum credit score of 640.
Partner with Habitat
Every potential Habitat Homeowner must be willing to partner with Habitat by providing "sweat equity" hours as well as participate in Homeowner Education classes.
Show A Need
Every potential Habitat Homeowner must be able to show that they truly have a housing need. The housing need could be number of things; from living in substandard housing, to overcrowding, or to rent payments that exceed 30% of their income.
Habitat Homes
Gibson County Habitat homes are modest in design and size but are designed to meet energy efficiency standards to minimize utility usage.

Habitat use only quality building materials that are supplied through local companies, which contributes to local jobs and local economic growth.
Our house designs reflect the local climate and culture which allows them to blend seamlessly into the neighborhood.
